What can we do right now?

It’s nearly been a full year since George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police.

On May 25, Minneapolis police officers arrested George Floyd.

Derek Chauvin, one of four police officers who arrived on the scene, knelt on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, and Floyd was killed.

Floyd was 46 when a white Minneapolis officer pressed a knee on his neck for several minutes as the dying man cried out for his mother.

Actually, George Floyd’s death indicates the racist roots of American policing.

Massive protests were held for days, in some cases months, on end across the U.S. In Minneapolis, demonstrators torched a police station that officers abandoned.

It’s nearly been a full year since George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police.

What can we do right now?!

What we must do is to continue to say his name, demand accountability, and take action against these tragic injustices.

Today as we remember the life of George Floyd we are reminded that the fight for justice, equal protection under the law, and accountability is far from over.

To conclude, what we must do is to take action against these racial acts and white supremacy.

“Our lives begin to end the day we remain silent about the things that matter.” So let’s fight to achieve our rights.
