No Serious Action is taken to Combat Racism and Police Brutality

Especially against black people!

The world occasionally witnesses racial violence and atrocities by the US police force against people of color, especially black people, but soon everything returns to normal, and no serious action is taken to combat such racial acts.

Black Lives Matter

But stopping this systemic racism and police brutality against people of color, especially black people, that is ingrained in the US structure, is possible only by changing minds.

On April 11, 2021, Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old African-American man, was fatally shot by police officer Kimberly Potter during a traffic stop.

Adam Toledo, a 13-year-old Latino boy, was shot and killed by Chicago Police Department officer Eric Stillman and on April 15, Stillman’s body cam footage was released!

On April 20, 2021, Ma’Khia Bryant, a 16-year-old African-American, was fatally shot by a police officer.

And many more blacks were killed in the United States this month due to the police brutality that people of color especially black people are faced with in this land.

In sum, as I said stopping this systemic racism and police brutality against people of color, especially black people, that is ingrained in the US structure, is possible only by changing minds.

Because although every few days we see violence against black people and murder of people of color in the United States, but according to what has been seen in recent months, after these events, we only see some partial protests by people and some TV interviews by organizers for a few days, but soon everything returns to normal.

To conclude, I would like to say that the point is that we must not stop fighting for our rights. As Martin Luther King said:

“Our lives begin to end the day we remain silent about the things that matter.”
